Engineering students have visited the unique British bike manufacturer Brompton Bicycle Ltd.

The famous folding bike is made in the company’s factory in Brentford, West London, which the group of BTEC L2 Electro-Mechanical students visited on their industrial trip.

A total of 16 students got a chance to see all stages of the bike’s design, manufacture, and quality control as well as learning more about Health and Safety at the company, thanks to Brompton Bicycle Ltd management who kindly and professionally supported this industrial visit said Nik Petkovic, Mechanical Engineering Lecturer.

Brompton bikes have been handmade in London since 1975 and the craftsmen are each trained by the company for 18 months. Each brazer leaves their initials stamped on the bike.
