Entry requirements
6 GCSEs grade 9-4 (grade A -C) in academic subjects, including English & Maths. Some subjects will require grade 9-6 (grade A -B) to study at AS level. If you haven’t taken traditional qualifications, or have not studied in the UK, we may be able to offer you a place based on your performance in an entry test. If you are aged 18 and under and do not have grade 9-4 in GCSE English or maths you will have to study these subjects alongside your AS subjects.
To progress from AS to A Level, students need a minimum of 3 ASs at grade D or above. A satisfactory reference may be required. -
Who is the course for?
This programme is suitable for students who wish to study a range of different subjects and intend to progress onto A2 Levels and into higher education.

Study methods
All students will study for AS Levels in the first year of their A Level course. Students normally take three subjects.

How is the course assessed?
The AS (Advanced Subsidiary) Levels are composed of exams which are taken in May/June. To complete a full A Level, a further year of study is required, and the new reformed qualifications are assessed through terminal exams, covering work from both years, taken in May/June. There is a coursework component in some subjects.

Where Next – Further Studies
A very high proportion of our A Level students progress to university, including Oxbridge and prestigious Russell Group Universities. Depending on the grades achieved, students can progress onto a university degree or a Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC / Level 5 HND course at a higher education institute.
