In this two-year course, students develop a broad knowledge and awareness of key aspects of the engineering sector by studying level 4 units. Altogether, this course has 8 mandatory units out of which three are core units and the remaining five are specialist units. All units have a 15 credit value.

- Unit 4002: Engineering Maths (year 1)
- Unit 4004: Managing a Professional Engineering Project (Pearson-set) (year 2)
Specialist Units (Mandatory): - Unit 4014: Production Engineering for Manufacture (year 1)
- Unit 4015: Automation, Robotics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) (year 2)
- Unit 4019: Electrical and Electronic Principles (year 1)
- Unit 4017: Quality and Process Improvement (year 2)
- Unit 4021: Electrical Machines (year 2).
